The Opportunity:  

  • High performance liquid coatings manufacturing.

  • Report directly to CEO; location flexible with travel to Boston and other sites as needed. 
  • Newly created position: lead effective execution of all high value operational initiatives to support growth and ensure best practices across all functions  

 

What You’ll Do:  

  • Become highly knowledgeable of the Company’s current technologies, formulations, applications and business processes.  
  • Understand all major initiatives presently under way and in the planning stages; identify top priorities and kpi’s for each. 
  • Work closely with and support functional leaders in execution of projects in their respective areas of responsibility through strong process, but without over-burdening a small company with unnecessary bureaucracy. This may include developing, implementing and managing the operational aspects of the projects. 
  • Ensure projects remain focused and aligned with the top level goals of the Company, and are executed within budget and timeline, through effective resource utilization.  
  • Communicate transparently and seamlessly with the CEO who often travels internationally.  
  • Continually implement best-in-class methods and pro-actively support the culture of excellence. 
  • Generate reports with actionable intelligence for Project Status, Risk, Financial, Milestones, etc.  
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, regulatory changes, market conditions, new tools or resources, and other factors influencing project priorities; ensure the Company remains in proactive stance with nimble and adaptable processes.  

  

The Profile:  

  • Degree in Business, Operations, or a relevant STEM discipline is REQUIRED.   
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt strongly preferred; PMP or similar also very helpful. A combination of certification with practical experience is ideal. 
  • 7+ years liquid coatings manufacturing experience including a wide range of operational and cross-functional project management responsibility is REQUIRED; more experience is great, but attitude is everything!   
  • Experience with Excel is required; experience with Power BI and Project Management Software strongly preferred. 
  • Adaptable, flexible, and comfortable in a small company or startup-type environment with a “Do what it takes” attitude; comfortable communicating clearly and often with all types of stakeholders (internal and external).  
  • Proven good judgement: you know what’s actually important to focus on, and you take ownership to get it done, paying attention to details along the way without getting bogged down. You can point directly to quantifiable successful outcomes. 
  • You always strive for excellence in your work, both the content and the process.  
  • Cheerful, friendly, and collaborative disposition.  
  • East coast or central location preferred.
