What You’ll Do

  • Work hands-on at the Company’s Jackson MS lab to develop and manage a full portfolio of products used in the Company’s industrial corrosion and wear product line
  • Be the primary point person for all product development/enhancement, property/performance testing, and quality/performance troubleshooting including:
  • Be the technical expert in the raw materials and formulations needed to develop different handling characteristics such as pot life, cure time, tolerance for unfavorable conditions such as heat, cold, wind, humidity, and how products will behave in those conditions on various substrates
  • Leverage relationships with raw material suppliers for technical insights and recommendations
  • Communicate frequently with raw material suppliers, vendors, and toll manufacturers as well as internal team members including sales
  • Travel occasionally to customer job sites to consult on application questions in the field, supporting the Technical Operations team. Also travel occasionally to manufacturing partners site for product launch and testing
  • You’ll also be point person ensuring products meet changing industry standards, keeping updated on specification requirements, etc.

The Profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science or related field
  • Experience with 2-part and 3-part epoxy thermoset systems some of which incorporate fillers is the core requirement .
  • Experience with vinyl ester, phenolic, furan and potassium silicate chemistry is also very helpful.
  • Experience with carbon-based fillerssilica-based fillers and other fillers and reactive powders very helpful.
  • Meaningful direct hands-on experience in industrial corrosion & wear, including formulation of filled products with the above resin chemistries and a very practical understanding of property requirements in complicated application environments. While this is primarily a lab-based role, it is not just about lab-scale formulation but about understanding how to make products that work in the field. This is a central aspect of the profile for this job.

  • You enjoy a varied, fast-moving environment juggling multiple priorities and deadlines rather than a deep focus on a few.
  • You like to take ownership and accountability of work to ensure results are accurate, timely, and dependable.
  • Emotionally mature with good judgment, you are a strong communicator by phone, email and in person. You understand how to influence others effectively both inside and outside the organization with diplomacy but firmness when needed
  • Willing to live/relocate to the Jackson MS area
  • Willing to travel up to 10% to customer job sites or occasionally to manufacturing partners; some international travel is a possibility but not required
