Recruitment & Organizational Design Solutions For The Coatings & Chemicals Industry

“People who use a career coach find jobs 15% to 46% faster than those who don’t, according to a study by talent management firm Lee Hecht Harrison.”

-Wall Street Journal 1/27/09

Nicola was the reason I landed my new career position... Nicola brought the skills to focus me on not just marketing myself but understanding what work I was looking for. I was not an easy customer - I thought I only needed help with my resume and cover letter. Nicola not only is a great writer and marketer, but made me realize my value in the market place. Nicola the strategist was a great sounding board through the interview process and the disengagement with my old company. The ROI on engaging Nicola was the best investment I made in 2009.

Welcome!

Working with an Executive Job or Career Coach is a significant decision that requires careful thought to match your needs to the coach's experience, to assure a relationship of trust so that the coach can be as effective as possible for you.

Here are a few things to consider.

Unlike many career coaches, I know first-hand what it takes to get hired for a senior position. I sit on that side of the desk, in the closed-door meetings after interviews, and know how the game is played. I review thousands of senior executive resumes every year, negotiate many offers, and will share with you the profile and techniques of the "A" candidates who win the jobs - and why, sometimes, the "B" will beat them out.

In career transition, you MUST own your actions and outcomes. You are your own General and battlefield commander: you cannot delegate this job. Many senior executives struggle greatly with this aspect of their career transition and it is a core topic for coaching. As a consultant and an entrepreneur, I live by my ability to network, follow up and close. Not only must I be expert in my field, I must have a compelling and clear value proposition and know how to present it. Sound familiar? It's like interviewing for a new position, all the time! I have been doing this successfully for sixteen years, and I will teach you how. This is the NUMBER ONE secret for a successful career move in a down job market.

Approach, interviewing, follow up and negotiation skills are learnable; and they routinely make or break the outcomes for senior level executive candidates on my search assignments. I've seen every approach under the sun, and I know which ones work, which ones don't, and why. I will share this inside information with you and coach you in its application.  We can role play, cover your questions on specific opportunities, and drill on the "how-to's" until you become self-sufficient and ahead of the competition - now and for the future.

LinkedIn is another essential resource. We will develop your profile together and you will also learn how to get the most from its many angles. Knowing how to use LinkedIn effectively is a core requirement in the executive job market today. Find out why and how. Build and nurture a valuable network, position yourself as the expert in your field, and find (and be found by) those who need what you have...

One more item that has proven popular is coaching on the "holy grail" of skills transfer. When faced with a need for a more significant change of career direction, some senior executives succeed but many languish. Once you know the keys to this you'll be able to open up new lines of thinking and expand the pool of potential opportunities. If this is relevant for your situation we can cover it.

My coaching package is process-driven, focused and will give you not just a resume, but the skills you need to win out there in the marketplace now and into the future.
Senior level executive search and organizational consulting remain my main business, so space for coaching is extremely limited.

Questions? Not sure what you need? Ask away - I'm happy to help and there's no charge for an initial consultation!
